BRENDAN JAMES
BRENDAN JAMESWith his warm, rich tenor and emotionally powerful songs, Brendan James announces himself as an artist-to-watch on his dazzling debut album, The Day is Brave. Rooted in the classic singer/songwriter tradition, the album is 11 tracks of stunning songcraft: elegant, earthy, and displaying a total lack of artifice that is rare in the pop world these days. James taught himself to play piano and took a year off from school to spend time in L.A. writing songs. “I was so passionate about songwriting, I wanted to get involved in the music scene and start performing,” he says. James continued to write and perform and eventually enlisted producer Mikal Blue for his first full-length record. Blue, who would go on to score a platinum record with Colbie Caillat, wanted to help James capture the intimacy of his live performance.

DAMON DOTSON
DAMON DOTSON Since emerging onto the Midwest music scene in 2003, Damon Dotson’s demand and popularity have soared. Dotson, who grew up in Okoboji, Iowa has definitely earned his acclaim from these humble beginnings. Damon is versatile in his performances and songwriting by performing not only as a solo acoustic act, but also with his full band. “With the curly locks of Jim Morrison but more of a warmly romantic sound that veers between Dave Matthews and Coldplay,” said one review from the Des Moines Register. Dotson has opened for such acts as B.B. King, Willie Nelson, Matt Nathanson, Gin Blossoms, The Beach boys, Kenny Loggins, Tristan Prettyman, and Stephan Kellogg. Always striving for something bigger and better, Damon is relentless when it comes to his music career.
